Trust Your Leaders

Trusting leaders begins with trusting yourself first. So ask your Inner Elder:

Are you investing as much in your PEOPLE as you are in AI?

Do you #trust that you’ve given your managers and leaders the skills they need to communicate with the various characters they encounter?

Today’s managers and leaders are being asked to coach, motivate, and develop others, in addition to their daily tasks.

But here’s the challenge:

Are they communicating and delegating like leaders? Or are they still convinced they can do things better, faster, and SAFER themselves?

That mindset may feel comfortable, but it comes at a cost.

When managers hold tightly to responsibilities, they limit opportunities for others. They also limit their own leadership potential.

As Carl Jung famously observed:

“People will do anything, no matter how absurd, to avoid facing themselves.”

And sometimes, that’s exactly where effective delegation begins: facing ourselves.

Our fears. Our need for control. Our discomfort with uncertainty.

Delegation isn’t simply about handing off work. It’s about developing people (including yourself) while building trusted teams.

And trust requires courage.

Learning to delegate with clarity means communicating the details, painting a picture of what success looks like, ensuring understanding has taken place, giving others room to succeed.

It also means understanding that ‘being authoritative while remaining kind’ are not opposing qualities. They’re complementary leadership strengths.

The debrief matters:

Does the work end when the assignment is complete? No.

We need honest and timely conversations. No BS feedback and recommendations. A willingness to examine what worked, what didn’t, and what both people (you included) learned.

This is how confidence grows. And how trust strengthens. This is how organizations develop their next generation of leaders.
